Better Business Bureau Pay for Play Scam Exposed

It all started at the very beginning of this year when Debt Solutions USA found out that the Better Business Bureau was accused by the Attorney General of running a pay for play scheme. At that point Debt Solutions USA, Inc. cancelled our membership with this dishonorable organization. A few days later in retaliation, the BBB lowered Debt Solutions USA's - 8 year A+ Rating to a D- and revoked our accreditation.

Here is our proof of how screwed up the BBB Grading system is:

Here is a comparison of BBB grading between Debt Solutions USA and Care One Credit:

1. Care One Credit has OVER 71 complaints. They receive 16 more complaints just in the last year!

Debt Solutions USA has 4 complaints.

2. Care On Credit was sued by the Attorney General: Care One Credit was fined by the Attorney General over $ 4.5 Million dollars in fees. and I quote "The Attorneys General also alleged that some of the consumers that AscendOne aka " Care One Credit " enrolled into debt management plans did not benefit from the plans." and the BBB says there is nothing to be concerned with!!! OMG!!! This is so crazy it is hard to believe. The court order provides that AscendOne and Dancel aka " Care One Credit " may not enroll consumers into debt management plans unless they first determine that the consumer can afford the plan and provide the consumer with meaningful credit counseling. Under the consent order, AscendOne and Dancel aka " Care One Credit " must also pay $4.5 million to the Attorney Generals involved.

Debt Solutions USA has NEVER been sued by ANYONE!

3. The BBB awarded Care One Credit an A Rating and an Accreditation (because of course they paid for their membership) Also the BBB states on Care One Credits BBB report that "The BBB does NOT have any concerns about this company??????? BBB awards Debt Solutions USA a D- and revokes our accreditation for Cancelling our membership! It is obvious to everyone that the BBB is a scam pure and simple!!! Grades are SOLD to the highest bidder!!!

The BBB states it lowered Debt Solutions USA's grade and revoked the accreditation due to engaging in activities reflecting poorly on the BBB. Do they mean because we are exposing their pay for play scheme? This statement is very misleading and a misrepresentation of the true facts. Engaging in what activities??? If there were any activities reflecting poorly on the BBB don't you think the BBB would mention what they are??? The only activity reflecting poorly was our decision to cancel our membership and accreditation with them and put the ABC video on our website debtsolutionsusa.com .

The only reason Debt Solutions USA, Inc. accreditation was revoked, our rating downgraded and a negative statement added was given was because we cancelled our accreditation / membership at the VERY beginning of the year PERIOD.

It is very clear that the BBB is trying to punish Debt Solutions USA for not paying to be an accredited member of their mob style organization. The BBB says we are using the url bbbdebthelp.com with misleading advertising. The url bbbdebthelp.com goes tohttp://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/business-bureau-best-ratings-money-buy/story?id=12123843How is that misleading advertising??? Debt Solutions USA offered to sell the domain name bbbdebthelp.com to the Better Business Bureau and they refused to purchase it. Also the BBB does NOT own the trademark BBB so they have NO RIGHTS to the initials BBB and NO RIGHT to ask anyone not to use the initials BBB. Currently on the Better Business Bureau's website they now specifically state that businesses must pay a fee to be accredited. That means if you do not pay you will not be accredited. Another way of saying you have to pay to play!

Accreditation Standards:

1. If a business has been accredited by the BBB, it means the BBB has determined that the business meets accreditation standards which include a commitment to make a good faith effort to resolve any consumer complaints. BBB accredited businesses pay a FEE for accreditation.

2. BBB accreditation does not mean that the business' products or services have been evaluated or endorsed by the BBB, or that the BBB has made a determination as to the business' product quality or competency in performing services.

3. Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation.

So that means the BBB CLEARLY endorses a company " Care One Credit " that had Attorney General Action and Hugh Fines ???????? Yes, that is correct.

"Right now, this rating system is really unworthy of consumer trust or confidence," said Connecticut attorney general Richard Blumenthal in an interview to be broadcast as part of an ABC News investigation airing tonight on 20/20.He also stated "At a minimum, the BBB must disclose to consumers that its ratings system is influenced by fees." In an official demand letter sent to the national headquarters of the Better Business Bureau Thursday, Blumenthal called on the BBB to stop using its grading system, which he said was "potentially harmful and misleading" to consumers. Currently on the Better Business Bureau's website they now specifically state that those businesses who pay for accreditation will get a better grade.

Debt Solutions USA's owners are Christians and as Christians they refuse to be affiliated with an organization that does not practice Christian principles.

This is a perfect example of how the BBB punishes those who decide to take a stand against their modern day thug style of doing business.
